Fabulous Finds

We spent the long weekend at one of my favourite vacation spots.  There was a big annual rummage sale going on at the local senior's centre and we rode bikes there right at start time.  I quickly found my treasure.
There's a story to go with these bowls.  Earlier this year I came across a set of three of these bowls at a thrift store.  The middle size bowl was white with green flowers and didn't appeal to me as much as the green ones.  They were priced individually and the set would have been about 12-16 dollars (I can't quite remember the exact prices).  I dithered because I didn't want the white one but I really didn't want to break up the set (yes, I am that silly and sentimental) and the price was also higher than what I usually like to pay when thrifting (yes, I am that frugal as well).  Anyway, I decided not to buy them and then was sad about it afterwards.  However, I am a big believer in second chances...and Saturday morning mine arrived.  These two bowls were sitting on a table just waiting for me - the middle sized white one no where in sight. ;-)  I grabbed them and then was told that I should name my price - everything had to go.  I asked if they would take $2 and was told that was great.  So there you have it...my second chance came at a cost of $2.  W loves these bowls, as well as the 70s chair I got for a dollar, and thinks everything in our house should be in funky 70s colours.
My grandma had one of these chairs/stools when I was little and I loved sitting on it - now I've picked up two from garage sales for $1 each.

Wow, a dollar for a chair or stool is a fabulous find. The bowls look the perfect shape and size for so many kitchen uses. It's grand that you got them in the end.

Oh my goodness - I just bought a bunch of those plates last month! They're white with the green flowers instead but I'm assuming the same pattern?

LOVE the chair!

I am delighting in your delight Heather! Great finds! I really hope to find bowls that lovely soon. My thrift store(s) are curiously bowl-less these days, except for wooden salad bowls;-)

We had one of those chairs when I was a kid! I used to like to whack the stairs down onto the kitchen floor and make my mum jump.
