Lemonade Syrup Recipe

The boys love to have lemonade as a cool treat on a hot day in the summertime. E likes the sourness of lemon so much he will eat them as is. The other day they wanted to make some so we bought some lemons and they set to it.I really like this recipe because you make the lemonade syrup and store it in the fridge, that way whenever you want a glass of lemonade you have the makings on hand.
Lemonade Syrup
6-8 lemons, juiced (you need 1 3/4 cups - 2 cups lemon juice)
lemon zest
1 1/2 cup sugar
water
Put sugar and 1 1/2 cup water into saucepan and add 3 tbsp lemon zest. Bring to boil. Stir constantly while boiling for 3 minutes. Let cool. Add the lemon juice and then pour into mason jar and store in fridge.
To serve, fill drinking glass with water and ice and then add 1/4 cup of lemonade syrup.

Enjoy! (preferably while sitting on the deck enjoying the sunshine)

This is such a great idea. I was looking for a recipe for my daughter's graduation party but I'm going to keep this in the fridge all summer long!

Homemade lemonade is way better for you. It's scary the type of stuff they put in store brought lemonade.
