Felted Sweater Slippers

One of the favourite gifts that I have been making for family members the last few years are Fibre Trends felted slipper clogs.  This year, since I'm enjoying chopping up felted sweaters so much, I decided to try making some slippers from the sweaters.  I found this pattern and knew it was a must try so yesterday I made a pair.
The instructions on that link are very clear and I was able to easily put together these slippers even though crocheting isn't my strong point.
I like them so much that I think I'll need to make a pair for myself in January.

Those are so sweet and soft looking and I LOVe the crochet color and detail! Very delicate looking. Did you stitch by hand?

Wow, those are awesome. I would learn how to crochet to do that part! Nice work.

Oh, these are wonderful! I've got to make some. Thanks for sharing the pattern!

And thanks for your comment on my crocheted cowl. I've since made two others I'll blog this week--one I'm particularly happy with (I need to make one for myself after Christmas!)

Hi Erin
I used the sewing machine to stitch the slipper top and bottom together but you certainly could do it by hand (you know I think of you every time I see a sewing machine at the thrift store). ;-)

Hi Donnalee - hmmm...if I couldn't crochet, I think that I would try using one of the ribbing bits from the sweater to finish it off - I'd just sew it on. Or maybe you could just try a blanket stitch as a finish? But, I really do like the crochet and it isn't too hard to learn. There are good video tutorials online and you only have to know a single crochet stitch and a slip stich.

Wow, fabulous slippers. Gorgeous looking and pretty straight forward. I have a friend down the road who could do the crochet for me. Thanks for the inspiration

Oh wow! those are fantastic :) I just cast on my first pair of wool socks for the kids to wear in their winter boots but this mama could use a pair of these to keep her toes warm *grin*. I can't wait to check out the pattern. Love your crochet work around the top :)
