Zukes, Cukes and Friends

Friday I showed up at beach day with an overflowing bag full of cukes and zukes, I was hoping my friends would take some off my hands enjoy having some to take home.  I barely managed to give away all that I took that day but I still had two more boxes in the back of my car.  I gave away a few more to friends and family this weekend when we were out of town and then...this morning...guess what awaited me at my garden in town.
Another ridiculous amount of zucchini and some more cukes to share.
Good thing I'm just on my way to another beach day...hopefully my friends won't stop meeting me at the beach for fear of being pestered to take more zucchinis every time. ;-)

Don't you just love how abundant gardening is?  So nice to be able to grow too much food and share it again, I missed that last year very much.

WOW! That is an awesome harvest! Can you believe...not one zuke yet! That is usually coming out our ears! They must have all gravitated your direction! Guess I need to make a trip to the beach!

Love that last shot. Beautiful. We're just now starting to harvest stuff. I can't believe how early your season comes - must be all that inland heat.

vashmet: (compound noun/verb) "Vash met his friends at the café after the film. They drank a lot of coffee."

This reminds me of the part in "Animal Vegetable Miracle" where Barbara Kingsolver describes her community saying that the only time anyone would lock their car was in August - and not for fear of being robbed, but of someone leaving them zucchini!

Hi Christa - you know, I actually remember my parents doing that to my neighbours once, they put loads of zucchini into their car.
