I finished clipping the seams on my denim quilt yesterday then washed, defluffed and hung it to dry. I'm quite happy with how it turned out and I especially love that it was made out of jeans (holey, worn jeans) which would have likely ended up in the landfill. I love making something from "nothing".
And this morning the snow is (mostly) gone and there is a rainbow over town.
Your quilt is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love the quilt. Did it take a long time? I have been thinking about trying something like this, but I tend to loose interest in a project if it takes to long...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, Heather.
ReplyDeleteWho's the lucky person who gets this on their bed?
wow! good for you!! looks great!
ReplyDeleteI love the finished look. It is a lovely blend of blues! That rainbow is pretty! We had bouncing hail stones all day and wet boys running around fields with umbrellas up, getting everything but their heads soaked ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh, this just may inspire me to attempt my first quilt. I've got a pile of worn jeans that I've been trying to think of what to do with other than throw out.
ReplyDeleteLovely!

the finished product is amazing! and so is that rainbow.
ReplyDeleteHi Tina, it took me a surprisingly short amount of time. I would guess a week, maybe? I had to wait until I got the bag of lighter denim from a friend otherwise I might have gone almost non-stop on it. It is very addicting working on it and seeing it come together.
ReplyDeleteRebecca, I actually made it as a sofa cover for an old sofa in the basement but I like the way it looks so well that I was also thinking it should go on a bed. ;-) Maybe E will want it in his room once we find our new place. W already has his special plaid flannel one (his John boy quilt) I made for his 13th b-day.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt looks so good. Thank you for posting a picture of it. The raggy seams look like they washed up just right.
